Former UN leader Ban Ki-moon to discuss memoir today at 11 a.m.

Former United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will discuss his memoir, “Resolved: United Nations in a Divided World,” at a National Press Club Virtual Headliners Book Event on Thursday, June 17, at 11 a.m.

Download a calendar invitation or view the event here.

Ban, served as the eighth Secretary General of the United Nations from January 2007 to December 2016, a period that included a 2010 earthquake in Haiti and a cholera epidemic linked to UN Peacekeepers, the Arab Spring, nuclear proliferation in Iran and North Korea, the Ebola epidemic, and emerging conflicts in Central Africa.

In "Resolved," Ban gives and insider's account of the inner workings of the UN, and an unsparing look at the diplomacy -- failed and successful -- at play in world conflicts. Kirkus Reviews called it "an inspiring story of character and integrity on the world stage."

The one-hour program will stream live on the Club's website and YouTube Channel, and is accessible to both the media and members of the general public free-of-charge. Viewers can submit their questions for Ki-moon in advance or during the live program via email to [email protected].
