Free hostile-environment training for journalists, May 5

The James W. Foley Legacy Foundation will cover the cost for 10 journalists to participate in a training program for reporters covering protests and riots from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 5, at the National Press Club.

The class combines hands-on emergency first aid with evocative virtual reality scenarios and stress management techniques that will improve skills and confidence.

The session on stress management and civil unrest is described as the most cutting-edge hostile environment training available for journalists.
