Get those entries ready for annual NPC members' photo exhibit

It's time to get your two best photos printed and mounted for the 18th annual National Press Club members' photo exhibit. Entries will be accepted from July 31 to Aug. 11.

The exhibit is the Club's annual celebration of visual storytelling by its members. The exhibit runs in September in the Club's main lobby.

Because of space limitations, members can enter no more than two photos in the main exhibit that have not been previously displayed at the Club. Members are asked to exercise good taste in selecting subjects to display in a public venue.

As before, entries in the print exhibit can have a maximum overall size -- print and mat -- of 11"x14". Prints must be securely mounted on sturdy mounting board. If matting is used, it must be securely attached. All titles, descriptions, and signature, if you wish, must be put on the front of the mat or photo. No glass, frames, or canvas prints are permitted.

Rules can be found online.

This year, the event features an optional electronic exhibit as well as print display of member photos. Members may submit up to four images in the electronic exhibit.

Members entering the electronic exhibit should submit high-quality images. The larger the size and higher the resolution, in dots per inch, the better. Files should be in *.jpg, *.jpeg, or *.png formats. Only still photographs will be accepted.

Beginning on Aug. 31, the electronic photo exhibit can be browsed online and seen in a continuous loop on big-screen monitors with the print exhibit in the Press Club's main lobby through Sept. 29. A gala opening reception is set for Wednesday, Sept. 6.

Details about submission of photos for the electronic exhibit can be found online.
