Get your entries in to NPC Journalism Awards contest by May 31

The National Press Club has extended the deadline for submitting entries to its journalism awards contest to May 31.

The Club is seeking entries for its newest award, the Nell Minow Award for Cultural Criticism, and the Rowse Award for exceptional media coverage, plus awards for creative online news journalism, animal rights coverage, the Gingras Award for humor writing and news photos. Other categories include coverage of issues specific to older people, foreign affairs, aviation and technology, newsletter journalism, Washington regional reporting and breaking news.

Most of the categories include cash prizes and some offer a year of free Club membership. Details on the categories and the prizes are found at the website below. The entry fee is $135 for non-members and free for Club members. The contest offers journalists a chance to have their work recognized by the Club, one of the leading journalism organizations in the country for more than a century.

Details and instructions to enter are available online

The awards will be presented at an event this summer.
