Here are your candidates for December's Press Club election

Current Club Vice President Eileen Drage O'Reilly, an Axios managing editor, was the only candidate to file to run for National Press Club president as petitioning for officers and Board of Governors seats came to end.

The other candidates for Club officers also are running unopposed:

  • Emily Wilkins, a Bloomberg Government congressional reporter, for vice president;
  • Alisa Parenti, a broadcaster for Bloomberg News who is seeking re-election as secretary;
  • Mike Balsamo, the Justice Department reporter for the Associated Press for treasurer, and
  • Poonam Sharma, a freelance writer and editor, for membership secretary.

The only competitive contest is the one for the Board of Governors where four Journalist candidates are competing for three three-year seats:

  • Glenn Marcus, an adjunct professor, producer and writer;
  • Jessica Mendoza, an editor and producer at NPR;
  • Steve Reilly, an investigative reporter with Grid News; and
  • Alison Snyder, an Axios managing editor.

Mark Schoeff, a senior reporter with Investment News, is running unopposed for a one-year unexpired term on the Board. Karen Addis, president of Addis Communications, is the only candidate for a three-year Communicator seat.

Election Day is Friday, Dec. 9. Early voting begins Monday, Nov. 21.
