Honor volunteers who photograph Club events at holiday party, Thursday

The team of volunteer photographers who shoot National Press Club events will be recognized at the Photo Team's annual holiday party beginning at noon Thursday, Dec. 8, in the Cosgrove Lounge.

The photographers' work can be seen in the Wire, on the Club's website, and in social media.

Buy your own lunch at the Reliable Source, and then join the party. which is free to all Club members and their guests.

Registration is required to attend.

An annual highlight of the holiday party is a digital photo show-and-tell. This year's theme is street photography.

Street photos are images captured from unexpected encounters in public areas. They can be taken on a city street, but also in small towns or country roads, in the woods or on a beach. And while people are usually the subjects of street photos, images can also be of animals or inanimate objects. Click here for a guide to street photography.

As in the past, party-goers may be creative in interpreting the theme. Photos need not be holiday-related. We plan to display the images on a video monitor and ask participants to tell the stories behind the photos. Please send in one street photography digital image to team co-chair Alan Kotok at [email protected], by Monday, Dec. 5.
