Howdy partners, here's what's cookin' at Club's Texas BBQ June 19

The National Press Club may be 2,000 miles from the Hill Country of Texas, but you’ll swear you’re in the middle of the Lone Star state if you dine at the Club’s Reliable Source Restaurant on Wednesday, June 19.

Texas barbecue, in all its finger-lickin’ flavor and accompanied by beer and bourbon, will be featured for members and their guests at both lunch and dinner.

A sumptuous Texas BBQ buffet prepared by Executive Chef Susan Delbert will be offered at dinner beginning at 5:30 p.m. At lunch, a special a la carte Texas menu also will be available,beginning at 11:30 a.m.,

Cost of the buffet dinner feast is $19, with hors d’oeurvres available separately. At lunch, a la carte items -– soup, hors d'oeurvres/bar snacks, entrée items, and select desserts -- have selected pricing.

Hors d'oeurvres/Bar Snacks (Available at bar or table service)

- Deviled eggs,$3
- Jalapeno Peppers, $3
- Chicken and cheese quesadillas, $4
- Prairie oysters, $4
- Sampler platter: (2 of each, ) $12

Soup
- Corn and jalapeno chowder

Buffet

- Slow cooked beef brisket (Lunch: as a sandwich with cheese and coleslaw, $10; or a platter with coleslaw and fries, $14.)
- BBQ salmon with whiskey sauce (Lunch: with rice and salad, $10)
- BBQ chicken Quarters, (Lunch: with grilled corn on the cob and rice, $14)
- Grilled corn on the cob and grilled marinated vegetables
- Corn pudding
- Texas Cowboy dirty rice with black beans

Salads (Not available at lunch)
