Hybrid publishing CEO to address indie authors, May 9

If you’re an author looking to enhance your knowledge of independent publishing, a group of National Press Club members might be right for you.

The group holds its next gathering on Thursday, May 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the McClendon Room. Our special guest speaker is Mascot Publishing CEO Naren Aryal, who will share his expertise with the hybrid/vanity publishing method.

Independent authors write, publish, distribute, and promote their books through their business as opposed to using a “traditional” publisher. Indies can still distribute their books widely in bookstores and through many online booksellers.

If you qualify as an independent author — having written and published at least one full-length book not using a traditional publisher — and would like to join us, reserve your seat in advance by contacting Club member Ed Barks at [email protected].

The group is considering expanding its roster to include prospective authors committed to publishing independently. If you prefer the indie approach and would like to join us, apply by contacting Barks.

Note that this is not a formal Club meeting, rather a cadre of members who share best practices with regard to the business of publishing independently. It is not a writing critique group. There is no cost to participate. Attendance is exclusive to Club members.
