International Women's Day, to be celebrated Sunday, March 8, under the theme of #eachforequal to promote the concept that an equal world is an enabled world, is the topic of the current edition of Update-1, the National Press Club’s podcast.

In the podcast, Club Broadcast/Podcast co-vice chair Adam Konowe discusses the upcoming event with Club member and freelance reporter Victoria Gaither, now based in New Zealand, and Heather Hutchings, chair of the Porirua, New Zealand, Chamber of Commerce near the capital city of Wellington. New Zealand women will be among the millions of other women around the world participating in the international event.

Both women address not only International Women’s Day events, but also reelection prospects for New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, last year’s deadly mosque shooting, the deadly volcano eruption and other developments in the country

Club Broadcast/Podcast team co-vice chair Mike Hempen produces Update-1. The podcast can be heard on the Club's website  or on iTunes, Stitcher and TuneIn.
