iPhone photography to be focus of Photo Committee meeting, noon Wednesday

Karen L. Messick, who teaches photography at Johns Hopkins University and the Capital Photography Center, will speak on iPhone photography at a photo committee luncheon, at noon Wednesday, March 23, in the McClendon Room.

Messick's work has been shown in numerous galleries around the U.S. and has been published in iPhoneLife Magazine and Nature Photographer Magazine. Messick, who's based in Baltimore, has led photo workshops in the U.S. and several European countries.

In her illustrated talk, Messick will discuss how she became interested in the iPhone as a vehicle for creative expression and will share a few of her iPhone images. Among the topics she will cover are her favorite apps for image capture and processing. Much of what she will say will, of course, also apply to other smartphones.

The meeting is free and open to all National Press Club members and their guests. No RSVP is necessary. Lunch will be available from the Reliable Source buffet.
