Job opening: Illinois Farm Bureau seeks agricultural policy editor

The Illinois Farm Bureau has an opening in its Bloomington, Ill., headquarters for an agricultural policy editor to develop news and feature stories on federal policy and its impact on Illinois agriculture and rural communications.The articles will appear in the bureau’s FarmWeek newspaper, online publication FarmWeekNow.com, and other communications platforms.

The successful applicant also will serve as the bureau’s primary content and publications contact on federal policy with federal legislators, federal department and agency officials, farm industry officials and specialists in the bureau’s governmental affairs division.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in a communications-related field, three or more years of journalism or agricultural writing experience, an understanding of production agriculture and knowledge of federal agriculture policy.
