The event was held after more than eight months of war between Israel and Hamas. Jordan, which shares a long border with Israel and the Palestinians in the West Bank, has played a key role in alleviating the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.

The Embassy Night series aims to connect journalists and communicators with ambassadors, press counselors and other diplomats. Recent hosts have included Austria, the Philippines, Rwanda, Guatemala, Kazakhstan, Iraq, Norway, Uzbekistan, Serbia, Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Taiwan.

Kawar, who previously served as Jordan’s ambassador to the United Nations and France, received official NPC mug as a thank you.
