Journalism Institute to launch ‘Covering Coronavirus’ newsletter; move training online

In recognition of the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19, the National Press Club Journalism Institute is postponing all in-person programs for March and April and offering online-only training so that speakers and participants can join from anywhere they feel safe. To receive updates on Institute programming and other activities, please subscribe to the Institute newsletter or check the Institute website.

To serve journalists and newsrooms during this challenging period, the Institute is also launching a Covering Coronavirus newsletter. It will be sent weekday afternoons and offer coverage tips along with best practices for staying safe while serving the public during this pandemic. You can subscribe here. If you see great coverage, have questions you’d like answered, or topics to suggest, please share them to [email protected]

The Library will remain open as long as the Club is open, with stepped-up cleaning protocols for the high-touch surfaces. We encourage everyone to use the hand sanitizer at the front desk, and wipes near the computers for cleaning before and after handling anything in the Library. The conference room will remain available as well to Club members, Club clients and staff. It can be booked by the front desk from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

Your well-being is our first priority. If you have any questions or concerns, please email Institute Executive Director Julie Moos at [email protected].
