Journalism Institute offers a Leadership Connect how-to session, Feb. 28

It’s all about who you know, and potential sources for your stories are everywhere. Stay up to date with Leadership Connect, a database designed to find correct contact information for people and organizations. Representatives from Leadership Connect plan to demonstrate how to use the database at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28, in the library.

The information resource is available at no cost to National Press Club members and is among the various tools available to help journalists with their reporting.

The training is free for Club members and $10 for non-members. Registration is open.

Whether you are trying to find the policy director for a member of Congress, board members for a foundation, or news media contacts, you can access Leadership Connect digitally in the Eric Friedheim National Journalism Library.

In the training, you’ll learn how to:

  • identify leaders, committees and staffers focused on specific issues;
  • research contacts you plan to meet;
  • find the right reporter at the right outlet; and
  • identify prospects, among other features.

This session is part of a series of workshops intended to introduce journalists and communicators to databases and resources available in the Eric Friedheim National Journalism Library.

For more information about this training or to pose a question in advance, please email Holly Butcher Grant at [email protected]

As a reminder to Club members: The Reliable Source is open for lunch. Reservations are encouraged.
