There are 25 spaces available for Club members to attend Kazakhstan Embassy Night, which has been arranged by the International Correspondents Committee at the embassy from 6:30pm on Tuesday, June 28. This event is for members only to allow a maximum number of NPC members to attend.

Here’s your chance to learn about the once-remote Central Asian Republic of Kazakhstan, noted for its rich history, culture, ethnic and religious diversity, breathtaking landscapes and immense natural resources, as it marks the 20th anniversary this year of its independence from the Soviet Union and its diplomatic relations with the United States.

Kazakhstan Embassy Night, from 6:30pm to 8pm on Tuesday, June 28, will begin with a presentation by HE Ambassador Erlan A. Idrissov on wide-ranging topics including the nation’s foreign policy, economic and political development following the end of Soviet rule, women empowerment, religious tolerance, the presidential elections in April and the future of Kazakhstan. It will be followed by a dinner reception featuring Kazakh cuisine.

The event will take place at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 1401 16th Street NW, which is three blocks east of the Dupont Circle Metro stop on the Red Line.

Please RSVP as early as possible to Pat Nelson or Karen Deem at [email protected] or 202-662-7501 along with your membership number and professional affiliation.
