Last call: photo exhibit entries due Aug. 24

This is the last week for National Press Club members to enter their best print photos and electronic images into the Club's 19th annual photography exhibit. Entries into this celebration of visual storytelling are due on Friday, Aug. 24.

It's not a contest; no judging takes place, nor are prizes awarded.

Members can submit up to six high-quality pictures for display: two print photos and four electronic images. Full rules and instructions can be found online.

Print photos should be sent or delivered in person to the Club's Membership Office, 529 14th Street NW, 13th floor, Washington, DC 20045. Check the exhibit's instructions for matting and mounting requirements, since loose photo prints are not accepted.

Electronic images should be sent by email as attachments to Noel St. John, the Club's photo coordinator, at [email protected]. In your email message, please give your name, Club member number and telephone number. The exhibit instructions spell out other requirements for file name, title, and caption on each image submitted.

The exhibit runs from Friday, Aug. 31, through Friday, Sept. 28. Print photos will be hung on fabric display panels in the Club's main lobby, with electronic images shown nearby in continuous-loop slideshows on big-screen monitors.

And mark your calendars for the exhibit's gala opening reception on Wednesday, Sept. 5, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
