Learn to create social media posts that sing at the Journalism Institute’s design workshop, Oct. 30
Visual social media posts are no longer a nicety — they are a necessity. Not all teams, though, have the resources to devote to designing and creating social media posts that sing.
Join the National Press Club Journalism Institute’s senior director Beth Francesco Friday, Oct. 30, from 11:30 am to 12:30 p.m. for a hands-on workshop to practice design fundamentals. She will cover:
-
free tools and resources for producing social media graphics
-
design tips for conceptualizing and producing graphics quickly
-
hands-on, step-by-step examples to walk you through the process.
Registration is open. This session is designed for journalists and communicators who don’t regularly produce graphics but find themselves taking on some of that work right now. The program is a follow-up to “Design Hacks: How to create visuals when it’s not usually your job,” but you need not have attended that program to benefit from this session.
About the speaker
Beth’s work as NPCJI’s senior director includes conceptualizing and implementing communication initiatives for a variety of Institute projects. Before coming to the NPCJI, Beth oversaw student media operations at the University of Texas at Arlington, where she developed training on design, editing, reporting, leadership and marketing. She’s been a freelance writer, editor and consultant for numerous newspaper, magazine and marketing agencies. She started her career as a copy editor/designer at the Corpus Christi (Texas) Caller-Times.
About NPCJI’s programs
The National Press Club Journalism Institute has added weekly programming, a daily newsletter, a daily writing group, and other support for journalists since March, and has waived fees for everything due to the COVID-19 pandemic at a savings of more than $52,000 to participants like you. If you value what you’ve been learning from the Institute during this time, please consider a donation of $5, $10, or whatever you can contribute.
