According to a recent study by ISEBOX, 75 percent of articles published online each week contain photos, videos, infographics and other content news organizations need to get the attention of a busy audience that has come to expect the visual story elements. However, most communications professionals don’t include these multimedia resources in their news releases, often because the technical requirements for sharing them are difficult.

“A press release is only as good as the coverage you receive,” Witte says. “No matter how important or relevant the content of a press release, it won’t succeed in reaching your audience unless you get journalists to cover it.”

Witte will demonstrate supporting technologies that make it easier to include multimedia content in news releases and distribute it to online news outlets.

The Communicators Breakfast is a professional development series sponsored by the Club's Communications and Marketing Committee.
