Library of Congress Selects Women Writers Museum for Reading Promotion Program

The Center for the Book in the Library of Congress has selected the American Women Writers National Museum as a partner in the Center's popular nationwide reading promotion partner program, according to National Press Club non-resident member Janice Law, founder of the museum.

The IRS approved the museum's tax exempt status via 501(c)(3) in a record 54 days, Law said. The organization intends to honor American women journalists, poets, historians, playwrights, screenwriters and authors. Law is negotiating for D.C. rental space, with a proposed 2012 opening.
