Library of Congress senior advisor to discuss library's Juneteenth initiative, today, 6 p.m.

Deanna McCray-James, senior advisor at the Library of Congress, will lead a discussion of Juneteenth, the nation's newest federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans, today (June 23), in the Cosgrove Lounge at 6 p.m.

The discussion is hosted by the Events Team as part of its "Cocktails and Conversations" series. It is open to Club members and guests. There is no charge, but registration is advised.

McCray-James co-leads communications for Of the People: Widening the Path, the Library’s multi-year initiative that promotes archives development for Black, Indigenous and other communities of color historically underrepresented in the library’s collections.
