Martin Luther King Jr. addressed Club, July 19, 1962

Did you know Martin Luther King Jr. spoke at the National Press Club on July 19, 1962? He discussed non-violent resistance and freedom.

You can read a draft of his speech here.

Interestingly, the Club's president worried about inaccuracies in the transcript of the speech due to a "not-too-clear" recording. He wrote King asking him to read over the transcript and fill in the blanks. You can read the correspondence here.
