Member invites National Press Club members to a study trip to Turkey in mid-November

National Press Club Member Mehmet Saracoglu invites National Press Club members, both journalists and communicators, to Rumi Forum`s upcoming study trip to Turkey, Nov. 14-23.

To participate in the trip, NPC members will need to purchase their own airfare to and from Turkey and provide $500 for domestic flights within Turkey. The Rumi Forum will cover all other expenses including accommodations, ground transportation and meals. However, if any NPC members wish to reimburse Rumi Forum for these costs, they may do so.

Applications for the trip are due Sept. 18.

The Rumi Forum has been organizing trips since 2005 and hopes NPC members will gain much from Turkey and issues related to the region.

The mission of the trip is to educate participants about the media and press freedom, democracy and human rights in Turkey and the wider region, and social, economic, cultural, security and political issues.

“The Rumi Forum places strong emphasis on meeting with Turkish people of all economic, political and religious backgrounds, which helps one gain a clear understanding of the culture, religion and traditions which have been passed down for centuries," said a former trip participant and NPC member, Ralph Winnie.

More information about the trip is provided here, including sample itinerary, details of previously visited VIP people and general facts about travel in Turkey.
