Members invited to get involved with the Broadcast Committee, Feb. 7

Are you a radio, television or communications professional or do you have an interest in finding out more about that part of the media world? Here’s your chance to get involved at the Club.

The NPC Broadcast Committee meets for the first time this year under returning Chairman Mark Hamrick on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 12:15 p.m. in the McClendon Room of the Reliable Source.

Hamrick, the 2011 NPC president, was the original chairman of the group when it was formed in 2006. He is succeeding Ken Mellgren, a member of the Board of Governors who will continue to serve as board liaison.

The committee’s responsibilities include production of the hour-long radio program “From The National Press Club” as well as providing voice talent to the weekly video “Rewind," which recaps the best of the Club's news and events.

Members who are interested in finding out more about the committee are invited to attend. Other items for discussion include contributing to professional development efforts and a possible social event later this year for recruiting new members.

The committee’s returning Vice Chairs are Mike Freedman and Adam Konowe.
