Members invited to hear Pulitzer Prize journalist discuss his behind-the-scenes book on JFK

Joe Motheral, chair of the Club's Book & Author Committee, invites National Press Club members and guests to hear Patrick Sloyan, who as a Pulitzer Prize-winning UPI journalist covered the White House during the Kennedy Administration, discuss his new book, "The Politics of Deception," at the Club's Game Room Wednesday, April 8, at 6 p.m.

After 50 years, Sloyan was able to latch onto recorded, behind the scenes tapes of momentous events during the Kennedy years such as the Cuban missile crisis and the Vietnam War. He has woven the information into his book that, one critic has observed, “is a revelatory look at a JFK few will recognize.”

Sloyan’s presentation will be followed by a Q&A and a book signing. Books will be available for sale.

No reservation or admission fee is required.
