Military Veterans in Journalism advocates for diversifying newsrooms by hiring and promoting vets

About 7 percent of Americans have served in the armed forces, but just 2 percent of media workers have military backgrounds, according to Census data. Military Veterans in Journalism is a professional association that works to get more veterans into newsrooms, and that's not its only mission. The group has launched an initiative to fight the disinformation aimed at military members and veterans by extremist groups. Broadcast/Podcast team member Tom Young sat down with MVJ founder Zack Baddorf to discuss these issues on the latest episode of Update-1.
