Multimedia Class Aug. 10-12; $30 for Members

Several spots are available in the online class, Getting into Multimedia 103, Aug. 10-12. The cost is $30 for NPC members, $50 for non-members who are teachers.

This class will cover how to maximize your website, from engaging readers to selling ads on your site. This class will look at comments and reader-submitted content, Google AdWords and other Web 2.0 tools including tools used for research, information display and connecting with your audience.

This is the last in a series of three classes on learning and improving multimedia for professional journalists and educators. You do not need to have taken the 101 or 102 class to take 103.

The course takes place entirely online. Participants will receive lessons and assignments from the instructor via email.

The course is approximately 10 hours of work, including class time and independent work. The class is three days, but students will have 10 days to complete assignments. There is a limit of 30 students.

Participants will be able to complete the activities at their own pace, but assignments must be returned to the instructor by the end of the 10-day period. In addition to the written lessons, participants will be able to contact the instructor via email, instant message and phone for further assistance.
