This Week in National Press Club History

October 23, 2008: Pop star Billy Joel reminisces about his life and career and performs some of his biggest hits to a sold-out luncheon.

October 23, 2009: Hip-hop icon Ludacris, a Grammy-Award-winning musician, actor and philanthropist, appears at a luncheon while in town raising funds for his foundation, which gives grants to community groups and special youth programs.

October 29, 2009: Legendary pianist John Eaton, a member of the Order of the Owl, performs at the Silver Owls Fall Hoot, which features the history of how the Club has acquired and preserves its often overlooked but valuable art and archival collections.

This Week In National Press Club History is brought to you by the History and Heritage Committee, which is dedicated to preserving and revitalizing the Club’s history through displays, panel discussions, events and lectures, as well as a long-standing oral history project.
