National Press Club co-ed softball team hopes to clinch playoff berth on Saturday

The National Press Club coed softball team is looking to continue its run of playoff appearances in the Metropolitan Media Softball League, with the outcome of two games Saturday likely determining if it advances to the championship series in two weeks.

Currently holding a 5-5 record on the 2022 season, the Press Club Big Blue team plays WTOP at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at the Capitol View/Homewood fields (best parking at 2929 Edgewood Rd., Kensington, MD 20895), followed by CBS at 11:15 a.m. For spectators, these fields have some of the better shade! Bring a camp chair and come on down!

According to the MMSL archives, the Press Club Big Blue team holds the league's longest active playoff streak at 12 seasons going into this weekend.

If Press Club Big Blue wins both Saturday games, there won't be any makeups from a rained-out double-header earlier, based on current playoff standings:
