National Press Club Scholarship Committee plans to judge applications Saturday, April 13

The National Press Club Scholarship Committee plans to judge the applications for the NPC's scholarship for journalism diversity at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 13.

Awarded to a high-school senior who plans to become a journalist, the scholarship is designed to foster diversity in the field. This is the Press Club's biggest scholarship; it amounts to as much as $10,000 over four years.

Last year's winner, Sean Hurd, aims to be a sports writer and is using the award to study at George Washington University.

Judging will span the morning of April 13, beginning by 9 a.m. and ending no later than noon.

There will be another judging session for the Feldman Fellowship and the Richard G. Zimmerman Scholarship in May.

If you are interested in judging at either session or getting involved in other Scholarship Committee events, please contact Scholarship Committee chairwoman Andrea Snyder at [email protected] and committee vice-chair Jennifer Dlouhy at [email protected].
