The Fall Hoot is a great opportunity learn about how a successful biographer works his craft.

John Aloysius (Jack) Farrell plans to provide insights into how he is researching and writing a new biography of former President Richard M. Nixon. A former reporter for the Boston Globe and Denver Post, Farrell is the author of two award-winning biographies on former House Speaker Thomas P. (Tip) O’Neill and famed defense lawyer Clarence Darrow. The latter won the 2012 Los Angeles Times book award for the best biography of the year.

The Fall Hoot also features the Owls’ DS (for dreadful singers) group, performing the ever-popular Whiffen Hoot song.

Silver Owls have been members of the Club for at least 25 years.
