Nationally syndicated radio host Jim Bohannon to chat with NPC members, May 6

Nationally syndicated talk show host and Radio Hall of Fame member Jim Bohannon will join National Press Club members virtually on Thursday, May 6, at noon to chat about his long career as a late-night radio interviewer and earlier stops as an all-news anchor, Vietnam veteran, and SAG-AFTRA union board member.

Bohannon, known as Jimbo, spent much of his career in Washington at WTOP, WRC and WGAY. He also did announcer booth work at CBS-TV.  His "Jim Bohannon Show" is now  broadcast live from his current home in Westminster, S.C., each weekday night from 10 p.m. until 1 a.m. and is carried in Washington on WFED at 1500 AM. 

In 1979, he worked with the Society of Professional Journalists to create Freedom of Information Day, marked each year on March 16, the birthday of James Madison, father of the U.S. Constitution's Bill of Rights.

Bohannon will join the noontime monthly meeting of the Club's Broadcast/Podcast Team via Zoom. Membership on the team is open to all NPC members and a link to the meeting and team membership can be obtained by contacting chair Mark Hamrick at [email protected].
