Need a remote intern this summer?

National Press Club member Joe Starrs, journalism program director at The Fund for American Studies in Washington, is looking for journalists willing to host a remote intern this summer.

The students are available for eight weeks in June and July and can do research, writing and other projects as interns for as little as 10 hours a week or as much as 30 hours a week. The students participating in this program are all undergraduates and are from schools across the U.S., where they are journalism and communications majors.

This summer will be very different for most, and maybe in particular for media outlets, many of which have been hit hard by layoffs and diminished resources. Perhaps the work of an intern would help fill an immediate staffing need, and give a student valuable work experience and an opportunity to establish contacts for a lifetime in the profession. The interns will not be able to come to Washington for the summer TFAS program, as they normally would, but they can still get a Washington flavor by connecting virtually to do their work.
