New Member Directory Unveiled; Prepare Your Profiles

The National Press Club's new member directory is online and ready to go, and members are urged to enter their information to make the improved, searchable database a better way to connect with and link to fellow members.

The new directory will allow members to search by first name, last name, occupation and beat. A keyword search box will let members search for other members' optional bio information, and members can also upload photos and engage members on Facebook, Twitter and other social-networking devices.

"It's a pleasure to see the Club of 2011 have a directory worthy of 2011,' said Club President Alan Bjerga. "I look forward to using it as a way to enhance my member experience and hope other Club members will use it that way as well."'

Club President-elect Mark Hamrick, who will be sworn in on Friday, said, "The new directory will help facilitate interaction among members, including the option of linking to social networking platforms. Whether one is working on a Club committee, or is trying to contact colleagues or other professionals, it will be a helpful new tool."

Members wanting to learn how to use the directory may follow an online guide at www.press.org/membership/directory/faq.

Staff will also be available at every Taco Night, Fridays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., through mid-February to help members navigate the new site. If you can't make it to the Club and need assistance, please send an e-mail to [email protected] with your name, contact information, and question.
