New Pulitzer Prize-winning photo added to Club walls

The National Press Club has added another Pulitzer Prize-winning photo to its walls.

The photo was taken and donated by Mary Chind, a staff photographer at The Des Moines Register, who won the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photography.

The image depicts the heart-stopping moment when Jason Oglesbee, a construction worker dangling from a crane in a makeshift harness, saved Patricia Ralph-Neely from the foaming water beneath a dam in the Des Moines river in June 2009.

Chind's Pulitzer joins the Club's permanent collection of Pulitzer photos taken and donated by Ron Edmonds, Patrick Farrell and Carol Guzy on the wall outside the Fourth Estate restaurant. Chind's photo is located above Edmonds' photo and near the bronze Pulitzer plaque.

Four additional Pulitzer photos were taken and donated by Scott Applewhite, Steve Crowley, Max Desfor and Joe Marquette. They are located on the wall near the ATM machine.

The Club is grateful for the generous donation of all these Pulitzer Prize-winning photos.
