Nov. 30 Winter Hoot fast approaching

The Silver Owls' Winter Hoot is fast approaching with its own holiday cocktail, the Pomegranate Moscow Mule, a first-ever gift exchange, and the induction of Club Executive Director Bill McCarren into the Order of the Owl.

Festivities begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 30. To reserve, call 202-662-7500 or email [email protected].
.
Entertainment will be provided by Chris Ullman, a world champion whistler whose repertoire includes classical, blues, jazz, Broadway, and rock.

The Silver Owls are those with 25 or more years of continuous membership.

In the spirit of the season, this year’s Hoot will feature a “give a gift, get a gift’’ exchange, open to all comers. Men should bring gifts for men and women for women. Either buy something for $10 or less, or bring a “white elephant’’ that someone would enjoy. When you arrive at the Hoot, drop your wrapped gift at the gift table. You will receive a ticket to use later to exchange for your gift.

There is no requirement to participate, but only those who bring a gift will receive one.

The tab continues to be $35 a person, which includes dinner, plus whatever you choose to spend at the bar. Make sure you get a stamp from the front desk for free parking at the G Street garage.
