NPC Flix airs “Bend It Like Beckham,” 6:30 pm June 26

As part of the National Press Club's World Cup celebration, NPC Flix will feature “Bend It Like Beckham” at 6:30 p.m. June 26 in the Truman Lounge.

The movie centers on the 18-year-old daughter of Punjabi Sikhs in London who is infatuated with football (soccer)that her parents have forbidden her to play because she is a girl. She joins a local women's team, which makes its way to the top of the league. Watch the trailer.
