NPC Member Lori Russo Promoted to President of Stanton Communications

National Press Club Speakers Committee member Lori Russo has been promoted to president of Stanton Communications, which she joined in 1999 as an entry-level account coordinator.

Club member Peter Stanton will retain the title of CEO of the quarter-century old firm.

Stanton Communications' news release on the promotion noted that "She chaired the inaugurals for five presidents of the National Press Club and co-chaired the committee organizing the Club’s presentation of its Fourth Estate awards to acclaimed interviewer Charlie Rose and veteran journalist Andrea Mitchell. Lori was among the first in the field to be included as one of PRWeek’s “40 Under 40” rising stars in the industry."

She was also deeply involved in the Club's 100th anniversary celebration and for that service was given the Club's Vivian Award for volunteerism by 2008 NPC President Sylvia Smith, one of several Vivians Lori has picked up.

Her LinkedIn profile notes that before moving to what she calls "the dark side" of public relations, she was assignment editor and sports producer at Baltimore's WMAR-TV.
