Oct. 15 Fourth Estate Dinner Nears Sellout; Balcony Seats Available

The Oct. 15 Fourth Estate Award dinner honoring CBS newsman Bob Schieffer is fast approaching a sellout, but tickets for balcony seating remain.

Bob Schieffer, longtime host of "Face the Nation" on CBS, will receive the Club's highest honor, the Fourth Estate Award. Schieffer is chief Washington correspondent for CBS News. In addition, he hosted the CBS Evening News before Katie Couric took over the anchor's chair, handled every major beat in the CBS Washington bureau, moderated two presidential debates and won seven Emmy Awards.

He will be toasted and roasted at a dinner in the Club's ballroom. This year's dinner will be a Texas-themed party honoring the Texas-born Schieffer. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the Club's Eric Friedheim National Journalism Library and its journalism training programs.

Cost is $125 for members and $175 for non-members. A portion of the ticket price is tax deductible. Reservations at [email protected] or by calling (202) 662-7501.
