Oct. 3 Speakeasy Night raises the stakes with members-only poker game

Step back in time on Oct. 3 when the Club's 14th floor will transform into a 1920s-style Speakeasy.

The Young Members Committee will host an all-ages, members-only poker game in the Game Room, located through the Reliable Source kitchen. The game will begin at 7 p.m. and will include up to eight members who sign up in advance. Other members are invited to join the group in the Game Room, but are reminded that non-members are not allowed to enter the Game Room pursuant to Club House Rules.

In addition to the poker game, the Reliable Source will host the Maureen Mullaney Jazz Quartet, which will perform period music. To get you in the proper frame of mind, the bartenders will serve Prohibition-era cocktails, such as Sidecars. There will also be a contest for the members and guests who wear the best period attire. You are encouraged to dress in your best zoot suits, flapper dresses and other Roaring 20s garb. An episode of Ken Burns' documentary 'Prohibition' will be screened beginning at 7 p.m. in the McClendon Room.
