Online voting for Club offices begins today, Nov. 11

For the first time, National Press Club members will be able to vote for club officers and members online using a computer, mobile device or tablet.

Online voting opens at 8 a.m. EST, Monday, Nov. 11 and concludes at 7 p.m. EST Wednesday, Dec. 11.

The Membership department will have a computer available in the General Offices, Monday thru Friday between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. if you would like staff assistance. In addition, paper ballots will be available at the club on Election Day, Friday, Dec. 13.

Here are step-by-step online voting instructions:

Step 1 Go to www.press.org

Step 2 Login as a member at the top left of the main webpage
- The permanent username is your membership number with no zeroes in front of the number
- Select 'forgot your password' if you don’t remember it your password
- Some passwords may be the first initial of your first name followed by your last name all in lowercase letters.

Step 3 Select the Voting link on the Club’s main webpage and you will be directed to the Votenet website.

Step 4 Login as a voter
- The username is your membership number
- The password is your last name

Step 5 Select the candidates of your choice and hit Next
- Click on details to read about each candidate
- There is a write-in option for each position
- You must vote for two candidates for the Board of Governors, Journalist Three-Year Term position

Step 6 Review the ballot, select 'Participant Consent' and Submit
- You are able to edit any choice by clicking on 'edit selection'
- Once you hit 'Submit' you cannot change your vote

Step 7 Receipt of your recorded vote and redirect to the National Press Club website.
