Only a few spaces left on annual Civil War Battlefield tour to Fredericksburg, Sept. 12

Sign up NOW to join fellow National Press Club members visiting the Civil War battlefields in and around Fredericksburg, VA, during the Club’s annual Civil War Trip on Saturday, Sept. 12.

An expert National Park Service guide will point out the highlights of the Dec. 11-15, 1862, Battle of Fredericksburg, one of the largest and deadliest battles of the Civil War. There were 18,000 casualties in the vicious fighting, more than 13,000 of them on the Union side. Opposing forces did battle in the streets of Fredericksburg in the first urban combat of the war, causing great hardships for civilians.

Club members and guests will depart by bus at 8 a.m. sharp from the F Street side of the National Press Building, returning at approximately 5 p.m.

There is no charge, but NPC members are limited to one guest each. Lunch will be provided.

Richard will be out of the country after September 7th and will not be checking messages. Pat will be available to answer your questions.
