Personal finance reporting workshop offered free for Club members, Oct. 8

The Society of American Business Editors and Writers (SABEW) and the National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE) will host the 2015 Personal Finance Reporting Workshop in New York on Thursday, Oct. 8, ahead of SABEW’s Fall Conference.

It’s an opportunity to get updates and exchange ideas with panelists and fellow reporters on personal finance topics including retirement, student debt and Millennials and money -- and take the pulse of the industry with panels on blogging and the state of personal finance reporting.

The workshop will be held at the TKP New York Conference Center in midtown Manhattan. See the complete schedule and get tickets. Join the conversation on Twitter #moneynewsworkshop2015.

Expect to come away with innovative story ideas, an understanding of research initiatives in behavioral finance, an assessment of the future of personal finance and new industry connections.

Panelists include New School economist Teresa Ghilarducci, author of "When I’m Sixty Four: The Plot Against Pensions and the Plan to Save Them," whose call for scrapping 401(k) plans and replacing then with mandatory employer-matched savings earned her the tongue-in-cheek title “the most dangerous woman in America” from U.S. News and World Report.
