POSTPONED: Post columnist Karen Tumulty to discuss Nancy Reagan book at Headliners book event

The discussion of "The Triumph of Nancy Reagan" with Washington Post columnist Karen Tumulty scheduled for Wednesday, June 9, will be rescheduled for a later date.

In “The Triumph of Nancy Reagan," Tumulty has written an extensive biography of Nancy Reagan that draws on overlooked archives, letters, memoirs, and White House records, as well as four years of interviews. Historian Doris Kearns Goodwin called it “the gold standard of books on First Ladies for generations to come.”

Tumulty explores how the made-in-Hollywood marriage of Ronald and Nancy Reagan was more than a love story—it was a partnership that helped Ronald Reagan's political ascension to the presidency. Tumulty tells the story of the powerful and often unseen influence of Reagan as First Lady and how she made herself a place in history.

Tumulty is a political columnist for The Washington Post where she has worked since 2010. She came to The Post after more than 15 years at Time magazine where she wrote about politics, the White House and Congress. Before joining Time she worked at the The Los Angeles Times where she covered a wide variety of beats. She started her journalism career at the now-defunct San Antonio Light
