Preparations complete for Reliable Source's steak dinner, tomorrow

All is set for the Reliable Source’s special three-course steak dinner tomorrow night, Aug. 23.

The beef, champagne and regional red wine have been ordered ... white table cloths, blue napkins and votive candles are ready to be placed on the tables ... vests and white aprons have been freshly pressed for the wait staff ... a CD player and sound system for music are set to be hooked up.

These and myriad other details are in place to provide a memorable dining experience for National Press Club members and guests at the dinner, which includes a glass of champagne Serving will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Cost is $28 for Club members and $35 for nonmembers, plus tax and gratuity.

FIRST COURSE

Choice of:

Iceberg wedge salad with croutons, bacon and blue cheese; Ranch dressing or Herb Vinaigrette; or

Soup of the day

ENTREE

Choice of:

Certified Angus beef bacon wrapped filet, mushroom wine sauce, chive mashed potatoes, sautéed spinach; or

Monster veal porterhouse steak, Merlot demi-glace, baked russet potato with sour cream and cheddar cheese and grilled asparagus

Vegetarian butternut squash lasagna with cranberries, hazelnuts and béchamel; over sautéed greens

DESSERT

Choice of:

Bread pudding with brown sugar rum sauce and whipped cream; or

Triple chocolate ice cream, brownie sundae with chocolate bourbon sauce; or

Three cheese plate with sesame lavash, orange slices and cinnamon walnuts
