Press Club Big Blue softball team lives to play another day due to inclement weather

All the anticipation about the National Press Club's Big Blue co-ed softball team making its 13th consecutive playoffs appearance will continue for a few more days, after this past weekend's championship play was rained out on both Saturday and Sunday.

As the #6 seed in the Metropolitan Media Softball League playoffs round waits with all the other top-finishing teams for word on where and what time the double-elimination games resume, there is another historic mark to note: In the league's 31-year history, not until this year has tournament play been washed out both days of the scheduled playoffs series.

The games had been set for July 9-10 on the athletic fields at Cabin John Regional Park in Bethesda, Maryland, but field conditions after the wet weather prevented the games from proceeding on schedule.
