Publishing expert Jane Friedman to meet with Club's indie authors, Dec. 12

The independent authors group of National Press Club members is pleased to host one of publishing's foremost experts -- Jane Friedman -- at its next meeting at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, in the McClendon Room. Whether you are a current or prospective indie author, you won't want to miss this one.

Friedman specializes in helping authors and publishers make smarter business decisions. For more insights, a free subscription to her Electric Speed e-newsletter is available online.

The meeting will last until 11 a.m. Advance reservations are required. Send your request to Ed Barks at [email protected]. Also contact Barks for more information about this informal band of Club members and how you may be able to participate.

Independent authors are changing the publishing industry by assuming added control of their content and gaining speed to market. They manage their own publishing businesses rather than relying on agents and "traditional" publishing houses.
