Reliable Source restaurant has new menu, new choices for member dining

New menu items are enhancing the experience at the National Press Club's Reliable Source pub.

They begin with lunch dishes at the hot buffet and salad bar, prepared fresh daily by Executive Chef Susan Delbert and her staff.

Included are a spinach salad with chicken or roasted portabella, steak salad, coconut chicken fingers, crab cake platter, roast beef sandwich, creole shrimp and cheesy grits, pasta with Bolognese meat sauce or a vegan marinara sauce, and a Greek-style oregano grilled chicken breast.

And the dinner menu includes avocado toast with smoked salmon, steak salad, colossal seared scallops, Doro wat: slightly spicy Ethiopian chicken stew, Creole shrimp and cheesy grits, Grilled certified Angus veal, bone-in porterhouse or boneless tenderloin, and Spaghetti Bolognese (meat sauce) or Marinara (vegan).

The “Hot off the Press” portion now usually will include rack of lamb or seared duck, while “Off the Hook” selections will include Atlantic cod, salmon, mahi-mahi, and rockfish.

Members also are invited to join the Reliable Source’s Happy Hour from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, when prices are reduced on house wine, beers and rail drinks.

And every Friday night from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. is Taco Night.

Check with your server about the “Reliable Drinks” at $10 each. They include Chocolate Lovers, Moscow Blue Moon, Appletini, Sex in the City, Manhattan, 14th & F Daiquiri, Tom Collins, Negroni, Irish Coffee, Grand Sidecar and Southern Reporter.
