Burgess, whose recent memoir traces how his choreography is informed by his early years in Santa Fe, New Mexico, plans to talk about the book and answer audience questions. Dancers from his acclaimed company, the Dana Tai Soon Burgess Dance Company, will perform excerpts from their repertoire.

Burgess is the Smithsonian Institution's choreographer in residence, a role in which he creates new works inspired by museum exhibitions.
