Screening of Frontline's 'America and the Taliban' to take place Sept. 7 at the Club

The third part of Frontline's "America and the Taliban" series will be aired at the Club at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 7. The showing will be followed by a panel discussion on the series and where things stand two years after the American withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Registration is required for the event, sponsored by the Club's Events Team. The event is only for Club members and their guests.

Ambassador Roya Rahmani, a senior advisor at the Atlantic Council’s South Asia Center. She is a former Afghan diplomat with nearly two decades of experience working with governments, nongovernmental organizations, and multilateral institutions. Rahmani was the first woman to serve as Afghan ambassador to the United States, first Afghan woman ambassador to Indonesia, and the first director general for regional cooperation at the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Jason Dempsey, one of the nation’s leading experts on military demographics and civilian-military relations. He served for two deployments to Afghanistan with the 10th Mountain and the 101st Airborne divisions. Between tours, Dempsey spent two years in the White House, where he initially served as first lady Michelle Obama's White House Fellow. He worked with Obama and Jill Biden on "Joining Forces," a national initiative to mobilize all sectors of society to support our service members and their families.
