Sign up for the Run For Austin Virtual 5K by Oct. 24 to receive race t-shirt

The National Press Club will host the second annual Run For Austin Virtual 5K on Saturday, Nov. 12, to raise awareness and public support for journalist Austin Tice, who has been unjustly detained in Syria since 2012.

Runners, walkers, hikers and press freedom supporters can register here.

New this year, participants who register by Oct. 24 will be shipped a complimentary race t-shirt with their registration.  Alternatively, T-shirts can  be picked up in-person at the Club on Oct. 10 and Oct. 11 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The Run For Austin is the next campaign in ongoing efforts from the National Press Club and the Press Freedom community to continue pushing for action in Austin's case. The Press Club encourages the public to keep Austin top of mind by taking part in the virtual race and sharing with the hashtags #RunForAustin and #BringAustinHome on social media.
